WHY DID YOU GET INTO FITNESS (AND CROSSFIT)?
I’d been “working out” for years and started training and competing in Olympic Weightlifting in 2013 at a CrossFIt gym but thought CrossFit looked really hard! However when we were stationed in Korea in 2015 I was looking to make friends and the moms at the 0900 CrossFit class invited me to try it out. My first workout was Karen (!!!) but I loved it and have never looked back!
WHY DID YOU BECOME A TRAINER?
I’d been in the fitness profession for over 10 years before I took my first CrossFit class. Once I started training CrossFit, I knew I didn’t want to teach any other format. CrossFit was the ultimate group exercise experience- all the fun and the friends of regular fitness classes but with the challenge of learning new and complex skills, plus an emphasis on proper form and always striving to move and perform better. Additionally, it incorporated the Olympic Lifts into the WODS and I could share my love that sport with the athletes I coached.
