** The Open**
It’s that time of year again! The open kicks off on February 21st! The open is five workouts over five weeks. Each weeks workout is announced on Thursday evening. The open is for all ages and ability levels! There will be the option for scaled or Rx workouts. Rx is the prescribed weight and movements for athletes looking to qualify for the CrossFit Games. Scaled is modified weights and movements for those athletes that might not have skills like muscle ups and handstand walks who still want to push themselves competing against others at the same ability level! No matter where you are on your fitness journey the open is a great opportunity to push yourself harder, faster, and some fun while your at it!
We will be hosting an in house competition, “Friday night lights”, where we will be running heats of athletes through the open workout each week. Each athlete will have a judge assigned to them to count their reps and hold them to the movement standards. Once completed the scores will be posted to the leaderboards in the gym. This way you can see where you stand against other athletes in your division whether you choose to compete in scaled or Rx.
