*New Coach Alert!*

Please help us in welcoming a new coach to the CFW family, Miranda Desmarais. Miranda has been an avid CrossFitter since 2013 and has a lot of knowledge/ experience to bring to the table. See below for her info and welcome Miranda!

WHAT YEAR DID YOU START CROSSFITTING? I started CrossFit in 2013

WHY DID YOU GET INTO FITNESS (AND CROSSFIT)?  I have been active my entire life. I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years and a collegiate pole vaulter for Ohio University’s track and field team. When I graduated college, I knew I would need something that would push me the way sports always did. Once I graduated, I tried out a CrossFit class and was hooked! I loved that CrossFit tricked me into doing cardio and included gymnastics and lifting movements that I had experience with. I also knew transitioning out of sports would be hard because I have always worked out with other people and never had motivation to workout by myself. The CrossFit community is what motivated me to come back day after day, even after feeling so sore and tired from the tough workouts.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A TRAINER? I have worked in fitness since college and have always loved to surround myself with other health fanatics. I became a trainer because I love helping people work to achieve their goals. The energy in the gym when someone masters a new skill or hits a new PR is so contagious and I love being apart of that.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? Snatches and handstand push ups

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHEAT FOOD? I love anything with cheese on it, especially Mexican food!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SUPERHERO AND WHY? Peter Quill (Guardians of the Galaxy) because he doesn’t take himself too seriously and has good taste in music!
