*New Coach Alert* Tuesday April 10th

Please welcome Jason “Jay” to the CrossFit Woodbridge coaching staff!  Jason has been involved in CrossFit for nearly 4 years now and is extremely passionate about helping others be the best version of themselves as they can be. Read more below about Jason’s background and what he has to bring to our community. Welcome Jay!

WHAT YEAR DID YOU START CROSSFITTING? 

2014, right after graduating college.

WHY DID YOU GET INTO FITNESS (AND CROSSFIT)?

I moved into my grand-big brother’s family house after graduating to start running a camp in Allentown, Pa… and was already going to planet fitness for a couple months before (and got kicked out). Stan dragged me to his Crossfit, SYR and the first workout was Fran. Imagine your first workout being FRAN at 285lbs. I was hooked from there.

I started getting into fitness in 2013 after weighing in at 336lbs. That was NOT OKAY, Especially in a fraternity. So I started leaning down to 200 on a 3.5 year journey.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A TRAINER? 

I wanted to coach kids, and my former head coach thought coaching adults would be a good learning experience pre-Crossfit kids.

I agree, because I fell in love with coaching, and it comes naturally as a teacher by day, anyway.

I really just want to help others be better, each and everyday

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT? 

Power clean and back squats. (1rm preferably because….PRs)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHEAT FOOD? 

Chocolate chip cookies, pizza, and Philadelphia cheesesteaks (only philly made).

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SUPERHERO AND WHY? 

Star-Lord (guardians of the galaxy). Suave, smooth with the words (and ladies), badass marksman who saves the world and cares more about his team than himself. A lot of parallels with myself (except for the suave/smooth/marksmanship.
