Most of you know your coaches so well that you can tell who wrote the blog, who’s programming for the week, and even who wrote the warm up for the day. We all have our own unique personality, styles, and interpretations. But our goal is unified. Taking the Warm Up for example — our goal is to increase your core temperature, range of motion for the day’s movements, and to wake the central nervous system. How each coach goes about it has subtle differences but the goal is the same. Same goes with the cool down. Sometimes the cool down can be as strenuous as the warm up. Our goal is to increase blood flow to the affected muscles to promote recovery. Participation in the Warm Up & Cool Down is vital to your success in the box. Some avoid the warm up to “save” themselves for a score on the board. Others skip the Cool Down to continue on with their day. Understand that you’re limiting your results. Come in prepared to do the entire class.
