Back when I was a Kid…

NCR0212

Some of you may have heard that we have added a Kids Division to our CFW CrossFit Games due to the demands of the kids and their parents.  This might be the coolest part of any CrossFit games thus far.  I was thinking back to when I was a kid and wondered what it would have been like if I had been exposed to CrossFit, weightlifting etc.  Don’t get me wrong I competed in a lot of sports but it is so cool to see kids throwing around barbells and crushing pull ups, much unlike I did in the Presidential Fitness Test with my gangly frame hanging from the pull up bar unable to get one pull up.  Kids, if you are reading this, keep up the hard work but don’t forget to use your fitness in other sports as well.  Kids will be up first on Friday nights in the CFW Games so come out and support them as they attack 14.1 at 6:30 pm.

Adults, how many presidential fitness award winners are out there?  How many of you wish you would have continued your fitness award winning streak into your adult life?  Who will always hate sit and reach because they could never reach the magic number of flexibility??  ME for sure!!

That’s my girl! So much bigger and stronger than when that picture was taken. She is rocking the CF thing…That said, I was an absolute failure at Presidential fitness tests. It was one of the reasons I have always hated running. One of the reasons that the kids do CF is so that they will always have the sense that being fit is FUN and they won’t know any other lifestyle. Wish I had know then what I know now…
