Back to Squats

What better day than a Monday to get back to squats…back squats.  See what I did there.  I have used this picture before but for all of the new dedicated athletes look above and you see a comparison of hip angle and knee position in the front squat, high bar back squat and low bar back squat.  Why do we squat you ask…Mark Rippetoe, experience powerlifter and author of Starting Strength: Basic Barbell Training among other books,  provides a solid response saying “The back squat is the only exercise in the weight room that trains the recruitment of the entire posterior chain in a way that is progressively improvable, and that is one of the things that makes the squat the best exercise you can do with barbells and, by extension, the best strength exercise there is.”  Check out this CrossFit Journal article and get ready to squat and train your whole posterior chain today!

    Loves the squat!

On another note. My alarm went off this morning (I have it set to a Classic Rock station) and Roxanne was playing. I was confused, like “Should I do burpees while brushing my teeth?” haha…I didn’t.
