There are a lot of studs in our gym. Some can snatch your 1RM Deadlift. Others can do 50 pull ups before you can get your band on the bar. We have people who not only lap us on an AMRAP but they double our score. They make it look easy. Some may say they make it look too easy. What’s the secret, some ask. What do I need to do to be able to do that? Well, there is no easy answer to that. There is no magic trick to getting butterfly pull ups or pistols. There isn’t a switch I can flip for you to double your max clean. There’s no pill or shake for a bodyweight strict press. No short cut to double unders. Just to name a few, it takes practice, hundreds of missed reps, thousands of successful reps, persistance, torn hands, contemplations of quitting, scaling, consistancy, a lot of PRs, a lot more non-PRs, yelling, sweating, swearing, laughing, and crying for you to reach your goals. All this, grouped together, is also known as “Hard Work”.
TODAY: SAT, JULY 20, 2013
TEAMS OF 3
AMRAP IN 20 MINUTES
PERSON A: 6 OVERHEAD SQUATS 135#/95# / 8 BOX JUMPS 33″/27″ / 10 TOES TO BAR
PERSON B: RUN TO THE TRACK, 1 LAP, RETURN
PERSON C: REST
Team rotates every time the runner returns (A becomes B, B becomes C, C becomes A). Person C will pick up where Person A leaves off when Person B returns. Your team’s score is the AMRAP score.
*Add a 45# Plate to a 30″/24″ box to get the RX height.
