Soooo, about the body image thing. We have a wide array of CrossFIT bodies here at CFW . Are you here to change your body or get fit or both? What I really want to know is when does your mindset change. As the owner and having my thumb on the pulse of a lot in the gym I can see a mental switch as well as a physical switch when someone has decided that they are fit and ready to flaunt it. I see it mostly in confidence around the gym. Someone will go from squeemish with a XL hoodie and some of their husbands or boyfriends (sometimes girlfriends) sweat pants to nice ass pants and a tank and now all of a sudden they are Ms/Mr talkative Tommy 15 minutes before class and 45 minutes after. What is about this place that instills the confidence to be who you are and love it?

Ok, ok! Don’t use the “F” word. (Fail). Um, well, my outfits haven’t changed since I started and I came in pretty chatty and still am … BUT, this brings us to your last and most important question, “What is it about this place that instills the confidence to be who you are and love it?” Normally I’m rather introverted and keep to myself and wouldn’t want just anyone to see my face in the floor, shorts riding up my rear and gasping for breath because I’m dead from doing a couple hundred push ups and 150 box squats, but I have NEVER cared at CrossFit who saw what. From Day One. The atmosphere is just so raw and open and sweaty and gritty and the people are all down to earth and very much like the crowd I grew up with on military bases. So, I kind of felt at home as soon as I walked in. WIN.
I’m here to get fitter and look better! I’ve gone from 222 in October to 209 as of yesterday and down on pant size. Work routine sucks but you guys make it “fun” in a sadist kind of way where I try to do the WOD when I’m not able to get in there. I look foward to pushing myself and getting the wierd looks from the people around me in the gym at work when your doing a WOD like Cindy and they do the one set sit for three minutes and continue that over and over and barley break a sweat!
When I’m at CFW I love the atmoshpere and the encouragement from everyone! Nobody judges you and everyone wants to help!
